Vulnerability Description
A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in all web servers.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to the server's inability to handle multiple incoming requests within a short period of time. Remote attackers may exploit this issue by rapidly sending a large number of HTTP requests to the server. The attack may be initiated from one or more sources (DDoS). Successful exploitation may cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

Protection Overview
IPS will detect and block multiple requests sent to the server over a short period of time.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

To configure the defense, select your product from the list below and follow the related protection steps.

How Can I Protect My Network?

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections, find the Web Servers Multiple Requests LOIC Distributed Denial of Service protection and activate the protection.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
