Vulnerability Description
A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Office MSODataSourceControl ActiveX Control. ActiveX controls are reusable software components based on Microsoft Component Object Model (COM). A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability via a specially crafted web page. Successful exploitation may create a denial of service condition on a vulnerable system.
Vulnerability Details
The vulnerability is due to an error in Microsoft Office MSODataSourceControl ActiveX Control that fails to properly handle overly long argument to a specific method. To trigger this flaw, a remote attacker could exploit this issue by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML document or open a malicious web page. Successful exploitation may cause the victim's browser to crash and may allow execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable system once the malicious page is loaded.
