How to Install SmartDefense Updates

SmartDefense Services update the SmartDefense component of your Check Point products with the latest protections. When a new threat emerges, SmartDefense Services provide information about the threat, the update to protect your system, and instructions on configuring that update for the relevant Check Point products.

You can easily download and configure the latest updates through the Check Point SmartCenter management user interface, protecting your whole system within minutes. These protections defend your system even before vendor-supplied patches become available or are fully installed throughout your network. Often, these broad-based  protections are available before the vulnerability has even been discovered or exploited, providing you with pre-emptive protection.

1. In SmartDashboard, select the SmartDefense tab and click Online Update. All new available protections are loaded into the SmartDefense list of protections, visible on the left side of the SmartDefense tab.
   
   
2. Configure the protections by selecting the desired defense from the SmartDefense list on the left side of the SmartDefense tab in SmartDashboard.

1. Access the Check Point SmartDefense Website.
2. Select the desired SmartDefense Update and view the instructions provided in the Protection tab.
