Check Point FireWall-1 3.0 Awarded Best of Show at NetWorld+Interop Paris
Newly Announced Network Security Solution Receives Grand Prize and Best Internet/Intranet Product Honors
Redwood City, CA —
Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., the market share
leader in network security software, today announced that Check
Point™ FireWall-1™ 3.0 was named the Grand Prize
The Best of Show awards, sponsored by Data Communications magazine, are selected by a panel of the magazine's editorial staff to honor products and services announced at NetWorld + Interop that most significantly advance the state of the art for distributed computing and networking. The Grand Prize honors recognize the best product across all seven categories.
"We are delighted to be the recipients of these distinguished top honors-both overall and within our category at such a prestigious international venue," said Dr. Deborah Triant, CEO and president of Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "Receiving this honor is truly a testament to the technological advancements we'll be delivering in Check Point FireWall-1 3.0."
Check Point FireWall-1 3.0, unveiled last week, includes
several breakthrough advancements in secure enterprise connectivity
including integrated content security, load balancing, fault
tolerance, support for multiple encryption schemes, and enhanced
authentication support, delivered in an open security platform.
The NetWorld + Interop Paris Best of Show awards are the most recent in a series of accolades that Check Point FireWall-1 has received in the past year. At NetWorld + Interop Fall, held last month in Atlanta, Georgia, Check Point FireWall-1 won the coveted "Intranet Excellence" award in the Security Products category from Intranet Magazine, a publication of Network World. Additionally, FireWall-1 received the "Editors' Choice" award for Best Internet Firewall from Internetwork Magazine.
At the Internet Commerce Expo (ICE), held last month in Anaheim, California, FireWall-1 was awarded a "Best of Class" designation for network management. Sponsored by Computerworld, the ICE selected FireWall-1 based on its unique ability to orchestrate the management of multiple firewall gateways from a central console.
In February 1996, Check Point announced that FireWall-1
earned the "Editors' Choice" award from Network
Computing magazine based on comparative testing of six firewall
products, as well as a "Top Performer" award from
Data Communications magazine based on an in-depth review
of fourteen leading competitors.
