Chamber Award from Israel-America Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Prize for the Young Entrepreneur for 1997 Award from Tel Aviv University Presented to Company and Founders

REDWOOD CITY, CALIF., – June 19, 1997 -- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., (NASDAQ: CHKPF), a leader in enterprise security software, today announced that the company and its founders have been selected as the recipients of honors from the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tel Aviv University respectively. The company was honored with the Chamber Award from the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The company founders, Gil Shwed, Shlomo Kramer, and Marius Nacht, were selected as the recipients of the Prize for the Young Entrepreneur for 1997 from Tel Aviv University.

The Chamber Award from the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce and Industry awards companies who demonstrate entrepreneurial abilities and excellence in the field of advanced technology. Check Point Software was awarded this honor for its ability to achieve a leading position in the security software market, successfully switch gears from research and development to marketing and sales, and for its ability to establish strategic alliances with major U.S. companies. The award was presented to Gil Shwed, CEO and President of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a formal dinner on May 18, 1997.

The Tel Aviv University Prize for the Young Entrepreneur for 1997

The Prize for the Young Entrepreneur for 1997 is selected by a panel of professionals representing the Entrepreneurial Center at the Leon Recanati Graduate School of Business Administration at Tel Aviv University to honor individuals who demonstrate exemplary entrepreneurial capabilities. Panel representatives include 50 representatives from the Israeli industry, academy and the economic elite. The panel selected the founders of Check Point Software, Gil Shwed, Shlomo Kramer, and Marius Nacht, for this honor, recognizing their ability to build and grow the company and achieve a dominant market position within the enterprise security market.
