Check Point Software Technologies names Asheem Chandna Vice President of Marketing and Business Development

Redwood City, Calif., September 9, 1998 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKPF) today announced that Asheem Chandna has been named vice president of marketing and business development, expanding his role with the company. With more than a decade of experience in high-tech marketing and management, Chandna assumes overall responsibility for Check Point's recognized marketing and business development organizations, including product marketing, channels marketing, marketing communications, corporate communications, product management, OPSEC Alliance and OEM partnerships. Prior to joining Check Point, Chandna served as vice president of marketing at CoroNet Systems, a venture-funded startup which built the industry's first monitoring system that provided an applications view across the network. When Compuware acquired CoroNet in 1995, Chandna served as director of product management with Compuware during a transition period. Previously, Chandna held senior marketing and product management roles with SynOptics/Bay Networks and consulting roles with AT&T Bell Laboratories. Chandna also holds external roles on the board of directors and company advisory boards of several privately-held venture-funded companies. He received a M. S. in computer engineering and a B.S. in electrical engineering, both from Case Western Reserve University.
