Check Point Doubles VPN Remote User Installed Base in Under Five Months, Setting New Industry Record

Over 20 Million Internet Users Licensed for Check Point VPN-1 Client Software

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – January 18, 2000 – Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that it has doubled the number of licensed remote access users for its VPN-1 client software solutions – licensing over 10 million copies in the last five months. Cumulatively, over 20 million copies of its VPN-1 SecuRemote and VPN-1 SecureClient have been licensed by customers since the beginning of 1999, extending Check Point's market leadership in virtual private networks (VPNs).
