Chantry Networks Joins Check Point's OPSEC Alliance to Develop Secure Wireless Networking Solution

Chantry Extends Firewall, VPN Solutions and Policies into Wireless Deployments; Reduces Customer Concerns and Needs for Additional Software

BOSTON-December 15, 2003-Chantry Networks, the provider of the world's first large-scale routed wireless LAN (WLAN) solution, the BeaconWorks™ family of products, today announced it has joined Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.'s (NASDAQ: CHKP) OPSECä (Open Platform for Security) Alliance. OPSEC, the industry's leading open, multi-vendor security framework, allows customers to seamlessly integrate best-of-breed security applications and deployment platforms into their network environment. Chantry will work toward integrating their BeaconWorks product line with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1® Pro™ to deliver a sophisticated WLAN security solution to Fortune 500 companies and large enterprises deploying state-of-the art wireless technology.

"Wireless technology has advanced to the point that, when properly implemented, can help enterprises reach a positive ROI," said Barry Mason, analyst, Nucleus Research. "However, security concerns are a major source of reluctance among companies considering campus-wide wireless networks. Partnerships between security vendors and wireless vendors are a key ingredient in helping to accelerate wireless usage by enterprises."

"Providing secure wireless access is critical in enterprise networking today, and we are pleased to have Chantry Networks join our OPSEC Alliance," said Upesh Patel, director, business development for Check Point Software Technologies.

Chantry Networks will leverage Check Point's OPSEC interfaces to integrate key security events and security policies defined and stored in Check Point's SMART™ (Smart Management Architecture).

"We understand the potential WLAN security risks that can result if the appropriate security measures are not in place, and we've built BeaconWorks to address the unique needs of the large-scale WLAN customer," said Brian Collie, co-founder and executive vice president, business development for Chantry Networks. "By working with Check Point Software, we are providing our customers with a bullet-proof, reliable wireless security infrastructure that lets end-users enjoy the flexibility of wireless Internet access."
