Overview Crossbeam X-Series systems fundamentally improve the economics of security by integrating defense-in-depth and superior network processing into an easy-to-implement security solution. The X-Series provides true carrier-class high availability and superior performance, while running multiple best in-class security applications for firewall, virtual private networks (VPNs), intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), anti-virus/spam/spyware, URL filtering, and web application firewalls. The X80 security platform from Crossbeam is a 14 blade chassis based solution that supports up to 40 Gbps of firewall throughput with Check Point firewall solutions including Security Gateway Software Blades, VPN-1 R65, and VPN-1 Power VSX. With hardware-based load balancing and a 160 Gbps backplane, consolidating 50 or more network devices onto a single X80 chassis is common. Multiple firewall instances are supported on a single X-Series platform and up to 150 separate firewall instances are supported when used with Check Point VPN-1 VSX software. The Crossbeam solution allows customers to reduce complexity by consolidating network functions and security applications in a single platform, all while preserving application choice.
