Open Call: Facilitate a Peer-to-Peer Session at RSA 2008

RSA Conference 2008 organizers are looking for moderators who have expertise in specific areas of IT security and can facilitate a group discussion. These are neither sales pitches nor PowerPoint-driven discussions—in fact, PowerPoint files will not even be allowed. Topics should not be product related and be broad enough to attract 25 preregistered attendees. Hot, timely, or newsworthy topics of interest to the IT security community will be given preferential consideration. To make room for these value-added sessions, the peer-to-peer program will be extended an extra day, until the Friday session of the conference, April 7-11, 2008, at the Moscone Center, in San Francisco. Objectives for the peer-to-peer sessions include:
  • Increasing opportunities for small-group discussions and fostering a more intimate conference
  • Creating a set of top-of-mind topics for attendees
  • Guaranteeing seats to attendees at the sessions of their choosing
  • Providing standby options for sessions not oversubscribed or that experience late cancellations
The call for moderators is open until Dec. 21, 2007. Selected moderators will be notified by the end of January 2008. Moderating a panel discussion session at a large high-tech industry conference is a great way to give back to the community—not to mention build your resume.
